Allowing a child to participate in both jiu-jitsu and muay-thai kickboxing classes provides them the opportunity to become a more well rounded martial artist, as well as insuring that they are able to defend themselves in a wider variety of situations.

When a child is involved in more than one martial art it provides a mental break from each sport and keeps them engaged and interested in both martial arts. The child then becomes healthy mentally and physically. Mentally, because they are confident in their ability to stand up for and defend themselves as well as their family, and friends. Physically, because they are using different muscle groups and building coordination by switching between two disciplines and using a wider variety of muscle groups.
With Mixed Martial Arts in Milwaukee and across the nation growing at an impressive rate, more young people are taking an interest in martial arts and looking for ways to participate in those types of activities.
Taking jiu-jitsu classes supplemented by muay-thai classes (or the other way around depending on your child's interest) is an excellent way to lay the foundation for a child interested in Mixed Martial Arts as well as prepare them to defend themselves both on and off the ground.
